Commentary

I had expected that this week would be something of a failure (and this for a post devoted to failure), and that is largely because I am on holiday in Mexico at The Royal Playa del Carmen.  I spent the last few weeks wandering around New York City, Mexico City, and Oaxaca, and now I am relaxing.

So, I expected that very little writing would be achieved.  I wanted to, but this hotel is awash with alcohol, and early morning writing is basically impossible.  I am disappointed that I didn’t read more, as I thought I would, however I spent good chunks of quiet time listening to podcasts and tinkering about on my phone.

Never mind.  After that, I return home, which means the next week is likely to be rather choppy as well.  After that, my life should smooth into its normal routine, and I expect and hope that I will achieve many more of my goals.

Each week I aim to provide an update on the Journal of Failure.  These reports are intended to provide an impetus for me to achieve as much as I should/more than I do, and also to provide a further ongoing record of my life, as it is.
